The Forth Junction Project
proposes to
promote tourism by
integrating existing rail-themed heritage attractions of Central
Alberta with organized or self-guided tours and expanding the theme
to create a representation of the settlement and economic
development of Western Canada

- Integration of existing icons and
historic rail features
including ACR pier along Taylor
Drive,
CPR Red Deer river bridge, the 'Arches',
CPR Red Deer station, Delburne museum,
CPR Bowden station and display at Innisfail,
Alberta Prairie Stettler steam train
tours,
Big Valley roundhouse interpretive centre,
the Nordegg Colleries National Historic Site,
Alberta Central Museum near Wetaskiwin,
CPR Tees station at Paskapoo Park Rimbey;
- Restoration or replication of a historic locomotive placed in
downtown Red Deer;
- Replication of
the unique CPR F1a
Jubilee 4-4-4 streamlined steam
locomotive 3001 'The Chinook';
- Acquisition of a Budd Dayliner and
other historically-significant
locomotives;
- Relocation, restoration or replication
of several historic rail stations for
the Rail and Transit Heritage Resort
and Family Nature Park;

of the former Alberta
Central
Railway Mintlaw steel river trestle
and repurpose it as part of a
regional trail and park system with
an interpretive centre;
- Eventual acquisition of historic railway equipment and infrastructure
for the Rail and Transit Heritage Resort and Family Nature Park
